The great NBA basketball player Michael Jordan once said that if "you get the fundamentals down the level of everything you do will rise."
We know this to be true in many areas in life. It is the same in the gym. The more deeply we understand our own bodies and how they work, as well as basic principles of movement, the more successful we'll be as we increase load, speed, and skill level.
While we always have coaches on duty helping you through movements and thorough demonstrations before wods, we want to make sure our members have a strong sense of the basics as they grow as athletes. Building awareness and understanding is part of the responsibility that comes with training.
This course is for EVERYONE. Whether you are casual athlete or one of our CrossFit competitors. Our fundamentals course will give you a refresher or show you for the first time, important technical information regarding essential movements of strength training. It's also a great way to have a conversation on why we do what we do.
CrossFit employs a variety of skills and movements that borrow from various disciplines like gymnastics and weight lifting. Taking the time to learn these skills individually is crucial and will help athletes progress.
It is always good to return to the basics and remind yourself of the underlying concepts and mechanics that will guide you through your training journey.
